Citroen, the renowned French automaker, is gearing up to introduce its second offering to the Indian market – the C3 Aircross, a compact SUV poised to redefine the driving experience with its fusion of elegance, comfort, and performance. Anticipated to grace Indian streets by the end of 2023, the C3 Aircross will vie for attention among midsize SUV contenders like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
Derived from the C3 hatchback lineage, the C3 Aircross boasts expanded dimensions, an elongated wheelbase, and the versatility of a three-row seating configuration. The heart of this dynamic machine beats with a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, producing a spirited 109 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. The power is harnessed by a six-speed manual transmission, delivering an impressive claimed fuel efficiency of 18.5 kmpl. Further enhancing the driving experience, an automatic transmission option is slated for future release.
Instantly recognizable, the C3 Aircross showcases a striking design, featuring distinctive split headlamps, LED DRLs, circular fog lights, a commanding air dam, contrast-hued skid plates, sleek blacked-out B-pillars, captivating LED tail lights, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The range of exterior hues includes four single-tone and six dual-tone options, allowing for personalized style expression.
Step inside, and the C3 Aircross envelops passengers in a capacious and inviting cabin. Showcasing a dual-tone interior scheme, the cabin hosts a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument console, versatile drive modes, and conveniently mounted controls on the flat-bottom, leather-wrapped steering wheel. A thoughtful feature is the AC vents with a dedicated fan speed controller for second-row passengers. The Advanced Comfort seats offer an added layer of plushness and support, elevating every journey. Moreover, the C3 Aircross boasts a flexible and adaptable layout, accommodating various seating arrangements and cargo needs.
Prioritizing safety and convenience, the C3 Aircross is equipped with an array of features including ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, hill start assist, traction and stability control, a tire pressure monitoring system, cruise control, keyless entry, push-button start, automatic climate control, wireless charging, and seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
As an integral part of Citroen’s C Cubed program, designed to introduce a new model annually in India until 2025, the C3 Aircross continues the automaker’s commitment to innovation. Following in the tracks of the successful C5 Aircross launched in April 2021, the C3 Aircross will undergo local engineering and production in India, demonstrating a commitment to up to 90 percent localization.
With projected ex-showroom prices ranging between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh, the C3 Aircross brings an air of sophistication and distinctiveness to the SUV market. Catering to discerning individuals seeking a blend of style, comfort, and adaptability, the C3 Aircross is poised to make a resounding impact, effortlessly handling both urban and highway journeys.
